Different learning, different students

You should bear in mind that good students in the traditional setting sometimes do rather poorly in an online degree program, while "bad" or struggling students may actually excel at online degree courses. This can be explained in part due to differences in learning styles. Visual, self-directed learners usually do well at online degree learning, but others succeed because online degree instructional design is very often sophisticated and reaches a wide variety of learners.
