About e-learning

Learning online, or e-learning is a general concept describing all forms of learning done on a computer by connecting to a network, and thus allowing us to learn anytime and anywhere. It is just one more way of education, not a worse or second-category kind of learning. In fact, e-learning can be as valuable or rich as any other learning experience, and the degrees earned online will be just as acknowledged and accredited.

Instructional programs for e-learning have been very much developed and refined over the last decade and a half. Well established teaching principles have been incorporated to this new world and, as a result, colleges, universities, businesses, and organizations worldwide are now offering their students fully accredited online degree and other educational programs.

Along the latest decades, technology has become a strong ally of education quality, both in face-to-face programs and distance learning. Because online degree programs make use of the latest available resources, the quality of learning provided is hardly matched by conventional education. The technological revolution in education has delivered easier-to-follow programs where the student's efforts are better focused and the learning experience is more satisfactory, while costs can be cut and time is better used.

Some terms normally related to e-learning are online learning, online education, distance education, distance learning, technology-based training, web-based training, computer-based training, intranet studies, internet learning and others.
